SafariUganda is not an anonymous travel platform. Behind the company is a personal story connecting Germany and Uganda — shaped by a Uganda journey, a mountain gorilla safari and the meeting of Annett and Hassan Pirani.

A Story Between Germany and Uganda

Annett Franz from Pößneck traveled to Uganda after learning that mountain gorillas could be seen there in the wild. At the time, larger tour operators did not commonly offer Uganda. That is how she found the local provider SafariUganda.

Hassan Pirani, whom she had first only contacted by email, picked her up from the airport and accompanied her round trip as her guide. From this journey and meeting, a personal connection grew, later becoming marriage and family.

Hassan Pirani: Connected to Germany and Uganda

Hassan Pirani was born in Germany and has Ugandan roots through his family. His family lived in Uganda but had to leave the country in 1972 during the time of Idi Amin. Years later, the family decided to return to Uganda and start again.

This connection between Germany and Uganda continues to shape SafariUganda today.

    Locally Present in Uganda

SafariUganda is rooted locally in Uganda. This local presence helps with personal travel planning, understanding developments in the country and accompanying guests reliably during their Uganda journey.
